Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel has formally informed Fenerbahçe of his decision to leave the club at the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to insider reports shared by Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, Osayi-Samuel’s camp has officially passed the message to the Fenerbahçe hierarchy, which brings an end to months of speculation over his future.

England Return Is Top Priority

Osayi-Samuel, whose contract runs out later this month, is now focused on securing a return to England, where he previously featured for Queens Park Rangers.

The 27-year-old defender has attracted offers from several clubs across Europe and is carefully weighing his next move.

For fans who enjoy tracking players like Osayi-Samuel all over the world, betting on international club football can add another layer of excitement to following their journeys.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian has earlier told Soccernet.ng about his ambition to return to the English Premier League, which could be a deciding factor in this summer transfer window.

“I think everyone knows that my ambition is to play English football, to play in the [English] Premier League, you know. No disrespect they [fenerbahçe sk] have done some much for me there [in Turkey]. But my ambition is to play in the Premier League. So when I feel that the time is the right time for me to go, I will take it.” he earlier told Soccernet.ng.

Despite his desire to head back to England, the Super Eagles star is keeping his options open.

Fenerbahçe Spell Comes To A Close

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahçe in 2021 and quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his work rate, and ability to play both as a right-back and winger.

However, the club’s failure to offer a contract extension — combined with internal misinformation about his salary demands — has led the Nigerian to seek a new challenge.

This puts to an end a significant chapter for both the player and the club, with Fenerbahçe now set to lose him on a free transfer in the summer window.

Osayi-Samuel: What Happens Next?

With interest from Premier League and Championship clubs already on the table, Osayi-Samuel is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks.

There has not been any official information from the player or his club on a contract renewal, but per reports, Osayi-Samuel is expected to leave Fenerbahçe this summer, and his next move could see him back in English football.
