Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar could be on his way out of Europe in the summer, as a Qatari club is planning a €30 million (₦55 billion) swoop for him, Soccernet.ng reports.

Sadiq has enjoyed a significant upturn in form since the start of the year when he left Real Sociedad for Valencia in a six-month loan deal.

The 28-year-old striker joined Sociedad in 2022 after two great years at Almeria, but he soon sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for the entire campaign.

Unfortunately for him, upon his return, he struggled to reach his previous levels, causing coach Imanol Alguacil to reduce his game time significantly.

However, at Valencia, Sadiq has picked form, contributing six goals in 16 appearances. Due to Sadiq's performances, there have been talks that Valencia will make his transfer permanent, as a purchase option was included in his contract.

But according to Que!, Sadiq might just be involved in a transfer triangle. An unnamed Qatari club is planning to offer Valencia €30 million for the Nigerian striker in the summer, but it could get complicated.

To make Sadiq's deal permanent, Valencia need to pay Real Sociedad €9.5 million. Once he becomes their player, they can then decided to sell him or not.

If Los Ches sell Sadiq to the Qatari club, they stand to make a profit of around €20 million. Moreover, Los Ches have two good strikers in Rafa Mir and Hugo Duro.

On the other hand, if Valencia do not exercise the purchase option for Sadiq, Real Sociedad could still decide to sell him off in the summer and make extra money.

The best deal for Sadiq Umar

The last few months at Valencia have been great for Sadiq Umar, so it is likely that he will prefer to stay there.

Of course, Los Ches should be able to afford the €9.5 million fee in the Nigerian's contract. However, it is unlikely that Sadiq would choose a transfer to Qatar anytime soon, as he is just 28.

With four games left until the end of the season, Valencia have a slight chance of nicking a continental spot. If Sadiq puts on a good show in the past four games, Valencia will likely sign him and keep him.
