Nigeria’s Super Falcons are ready to open camp ahead of two international friendly matches against regional rivals Cameroon, scheduled for the end of May and early June, Soccernet.ng reports.

The camp of the former continental champions will officially open on Monday, May 26, it has been confirmed.

The nine-time African champions will take on the Indomitable Lionesses in a pair of high-profile encounters, with both matches taking place in Ogun State.

The first fixture will be held on Saturday, 31 May, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo. The second leg will follow on Tuesday, 3 June, at the newly renovated MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

The Nigerian squad, led by head coach Justine Madugu, will report to camp on Monday, 26 May. The team will be based at Am2pm Hotel in Ijebu-Ode throughout their stay in Ogun. This is Madugu’s second major outing in charge of the senior national side, as preparations intensify for the delayed 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco this July.

Madugu has named a 23-player squad featuring a strong mix of local standouts and overseas-based professionals.

Paris FC shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie headlines the goalkeeping department, while experienced defenders Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, and Oluwatosin Demehin bring solidity to the backline.

The midfield boasts captain Rasheedat Ajibade, alongside promising talents like Deborah Abiodun and Christy Ucheibe.

Upfront, Nigeria will look to in-form forwards Jennifer Echegini, Ifeoma Onumonu, and Francisca Ordega for goals.

While Nigeria gears up for WAFCON 2025 — where they will compete in Group B against Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana — Cameroon will use the fixtures to maintain competitiveness after failing to qualify for the tournament.

The friendlies offer the Falcons a crucial opportunity to fine-tune tactics and build cohesion ahead of their bid for a record-extending 10th continental crown.
