Super Eagles prospect Faustino Anjorin is back on the radar — and this time, he’s drawing serious attention from some of Serie A’s most ambitious sides, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Chelsea academy gem, now flourishing at Empoli, has emerged as one of Italy’s most intriguing midfield prospects, with Atalanta, Bologna, and Torino locked in a three-way race for his signature.

Anjorin, 22, was once tipped for stardom at Stamford Bridge, but injuries and unremarkable loan spells in England stalled his progress.

A free transfer to Empoli last summer appeared to be a fresh start, and the move has paid off. Under the guidance of sporting director Roberto Gemmi, Anjorin has steadily found his rhythm and become a standout performer in Serie A.

Atalanta are leading the chase. Known for nurturing raw talent, the Bergamo club see Anjorin as a perfect fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s high-energy, technically fluid system. With his dynamism, vision, and technical flair, the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder ticks all the boxes.

Empoli, whose Serie A status remains in doubt heading into the final rounds, could be forced into a sale.

Though Anjorin is under contract until 2027, Chelsea retain a 50% sell-on clause — a factor that lowers the financial risk for buyers, while complicating the Tuscans’ hopes of cashing in. Should Empoli drop to Serie B, Anjorin's exit could become inevitable.

Torino and Bologna have also shown strong interest, as per Tutto Atalanta.

Bologna, with European football within reach, could offer Anjorin a platform in the Europa League, while Torino see him as a building block for the future. However, Atalanta’s Champions League credentials may prove decisive.

Adding further intrigue is Anjorin’s international future. The former England youth international, who qualifies for Nigeria through his heritage, is reportedly on the radar of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.

The Malian tactician has been tracking Anjorin’s resurgence since his return from injury and is considering him for the upcoming Unity Cup in London, as well as Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Anjorin could be set for a summer of transfer drama and potential international recognition.
