Atletico Madrid and Brentford are interested in signing Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche from Getafe this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Uche just made his top-flight debut this season, joining Getafe from third-division Ceuta. But he made such a big impression that there were speculations that clubs like Chelsea wanted to sign him in the winter transfer window. But the talks did not materialize eventually.

In the just-conclude LaLiga season, the 22-year-old midfielder contributed four goals and six assists in 33 games for Geta Azulones. He even score the vital goal that saved the club from relegation two weeks ago.
Following his impressive campaign with Getafe, Uche is expected to attract interest from bigger club. And a new development, per Africa Foot, Atletico Madrid and Brentford are interested in acquiring Uche this summer.
Los Colchoneros desperately need to refresh their midfield, as most of their midfielders are 30+. Also, Koke and Axel Witsel's are set to leave the club, as their contracts are set to expire at the end of June.
Meanwhile, the Bees need to add some quality to their team to aid another survival fight in the Premier League or even an unprecedented place in Europe next season.
The Nigerian midfielder is valued at €8 million according to Transfermarkt. But Africa Foot reports that Getafe will not accept anything less than €20 million (₦36 billion).
The LaLiga club can also afford to hold out as Uche's release clause is set at €25 million and he still has three years left on his contract.
Is this the right time for Christantus Uche to move?
Christantus Uche is already 22, and in the next three years, he will be expected to reach the top of his game. He has done very well at Getafe, but there is still room for improvement.
However, staying at Getafe might not be the best decision for him if he wants to reach the top of his game.
Uche should look at making a big move to a clubs where he will play with better players and improve under a better manager.
Atleti would be a decent option because Uche rugged, street-smart type of football would endear him to coach Diego Simeone.
Nothing is confirmed yet. But in the next few weeks, Uche's next move should become clearer.
