Nine-time English Premier League Champions, Everton, have sent their staff out to secure the services of Super Eagles and FC Nantes forward, Moses Simon, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Toffees have battled and survived relegation in the past two seasons. Now, under new owners and the mentorship of David Moyes, the Merseysiders want to change things at the club, with the hopes of making Everton a top-half Premier League club again.

In a bid to progress, the five-time FA Cup winners have identified their primary targets ahead of the summer transfer window, and Moses Simon is one of those.

Moses Simon is currently experiencing his best individual season in the French Ligue 1, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in 28 games for the Yellow Canaries.

As per Goodison News, Everton have sent a delegation to France to keep tabs on Simon till the end of the season, as they continue to monitor his performances, alongside that of Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.

The one-time EFL Champions are working behind the scenes to sign the versatile Nigerian winger who’ll be available in the summer if interested clubs pay a fee around £12.8m.

Should Simon move to Everton?

With Nantes struggling to survive relegation in France, a move away from the Yellow Canaries makes sense, and with just a year left on his contract with them, there’s no better time for the club to cash out than right now.

The former Genk attacker is understood to have told his agent to find a move to England in the upcoming transfer window, although there are other teams in Europe who are keen on the forward.

Everton play transition football, a style of play Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze thrive on, breaking on counterattacks with blistering pace.

He’ll get playing time with David Moyes’ side as no wingers in the current Everton squad boast a pedigree of Simon’s abilities on and off the ball. Still, it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up when next season kicks off.
