Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder, Alex Chuka Iwobi, has backed Barcelona to defeat Inter Milan in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old is enjoying his best season in the English Premier League this season, racking up 15 goal contributions for Marco SIlva’s side.

Arsenal are poised to lock horns against Paris Saint-Germain, while Inter Milan will take on Barcelona. Iwobi tipped his former side to make the final while it was a tight decision between Inter and Hansi Flick’s side.

The former Everton midfielder backed Barcelona to knock Inter Milan out of the UEFA Champions League, although he admitted the tie will be a keenly-contested one.

“It is tough because Inter are good, defensively they are very good, and Lautaro Martinez is a very good focal point. I am going to go with Barcelona because the way they attack is scary, I can’t lie. They have a chance, a great chance.

“They play free-flowing football, very attacking. They have exciting wingers in Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, even players coming off the bench like Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo.

“Going forward they are very creative and an exciting team to watch. So for any defense, it’ll  be a problem for them to contain those players,” the Nigerian midfielder said on UEFA’s UCL off pitch show.

Iwobi tipped Barcelona’s Raphinha to be crowned the Player of the tournament after his exploits in the tournament, but backed Arsenal to go all the way after a long spell without success in the UEFA Champions League.

“I’ll always have that connection with Arsenal, it’ll always be in my blood as they were home for me once upon a time. To beat the holders, Real Madrid, was insane. I was celebrating for them as well, I’m happy for them,” the Fulham midfielder concluded.

Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain tonight at the Emirates Stadium while Barcelona welcome Inter Milan to the Olympic Luis Stadium tomorrow.
