“It’s not about size” – Pakistan head coach warns Super Eagles ahead of Rwanda clash

Nigeria vs Rwanda in Uyo during 2025 AFCON qualifiers

Former head coach of the Malawi national football team, Stephen Constantine, has weighed in on the Rwanda football team ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Amavubi of Rwanda are currently the table toppers of the World Cup group standings after garnering a win, two draws, and a loss to secure seven points in the six-team table.

Meanwhile, they face a bigger fish to fry when they take on the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations champions in the coming days at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

For Constantine, who has formerly led the Rwandan national team, it is not about size for his former team, as they know how to organize themselves to achieve the best result.

“It’s not about size or population but what you do with what you have, and Rwanda does that well,” said the 62-year-old head coach, who spoke to Deutsche Welle, as quoted by The New Times ahead of the clash.

For the head coach of the Pakistan national team, the Rwandan setup should not be underestimated, as there is a lot of talent capable of firing the team to victory or making things difficult for Nigeria.

He added: “I think Rwanda is underestimated to a large degree, but there’s talent in Rwanda, lots of talent. That is what happens when you give players time and opportunity to develop.”
