Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh was present at the King Power Stadium to watch Wilfred Ndidi play for Leicester City against Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi has been an important player for Leicester City over the years, and that has not changed this season.  The Super Eagles star started in midfield when they welcomed the Red Devils.

Unfortunately for him and his Leicester City side, they failed to halt their seven-game losing streak, as they lost again. Goals from Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes sealed the 3-0 win for Ruben Amorim's men.

That victory just ensured that Leicester fell deeper into relegation waters, nine points away from safety. Ndidi was helpless and could not do much, as he had a 79 percent pass accuracy, three interceptions, and two clearances.

After the game, former Nigeria coach Oliseh shared a post on X, revealing that he was at the stadium to watch Ndidi live. He also had some good words for the former Gent man after the loss.

“Loved watching Wilfred Ndidi battle it out against Man United in Leicester yesterday, in company of my brother Egutu and friend Sunny,—what a spirited performance! Still such a humble, talented guy with an adorable daughter and wife to top it off!” Oliseh wrote.

Oliseh was Super Eagles coach for about eight months between 2015 and 2016 before resigning from the position under controversial circumstances. He currently lives in Belgium with his family.

Wilfred Ndidi must not carry Leicester City's form into the Super Eagles World Cup Qualifiers

It has been a disappointing season for Leicester City, as they are a top candidate for relegation as it stands. However, Ndidi must not let that form affect him as the Super Eagles resume the World Cup Qualifiers later this week.

He is the midfield engine, and he would have to be at his best and show the younger midfielders like Raphael Onyedika and Alhassan Yusuf what it takes to wear a Super Eagles jersey.

Nigeria need to grab wins from the two games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe to still have a shot at qualifying for the World Cup. They play Rwanda first on March 21 before welcoming Zimbabwe to Nigeria four days later.
