Super Eagles and Middlesbrough striker, Kelechi Promise Iheanacho, is finally off the mark for his new club after a poor run of form across all competitions, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former Leicester City forward hasn’t enjoyed his career in front of goal since leaving the King Power Stadium last summer, struggling to fit in at Sevilla and Middlesbrough.
After seven league games without a goal, Iheanacho finally ended his goal-scoring drought in his side’s clash against Oxford United in the EFL Championship.

After his early struggles in Boro, Iheanacho put the International break into good use after he was omitted from Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles 23-man squad list that took on Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The former Manchester City forward was training, taking extra sessions to make sure he got back into top shape and rekindle his career, and this decision pleased Middlesbrough manager, Michael Carrick.
“That’s what it takes now. Kel’s definitely a big part of the group and important because of his experience and his character.
“The way he trains and goes about his business, he’s a good example to the younger lads. It’s taken him a few games to get up to 100 per cent in terms of sharpness and fitness, but I’m sure he’ll have a big impact for us between now and the end of the season,” the former Manchester United midfielder said as previously reported by Soccernet.ng.
