Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has told Nigerian fans that the team will go all out for victory when they play Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria take on Rwanda at the Stade Amahoro on Friday as they continue their push to secure a place in the next FIFA World Cup. Recall that Nigeria failed to qualify for the last World Cup in Qatar. And now, they are in a precarious situation after picking just three points from their first four games in group c.

The Super Eagles have to bounce back with the game at Rwanda, and many fans would hope that the appointment of Franco-Malian tactician Eric Chelle would ensure that.

The players have already hinted that Chelle’s style of play is going to be physically demanding. Now, ahead of the game, captain Troost-Ekong has stated that the Super Eagles will be bullish on Friday.

“You can expect an energetic team, a team that will go all out to win. Because of our position, we need to win all the games- that’s our new focus, so there’s going to be no conservative football and a lot of pressure from our side,” Troost-Ekong told Eaglestracker.

Troost-Ekong will likely lead the boys out on Monday, and they will hope to emerge victorious after 90 minutes.

What Nigeria’s Super Eagles should expect from Rwanda

Rwanda are going to be playing in a stadium that will be filled with over 40,000 fans, and that might be intimidating for a young Nigerian side that are notorious for struggling away from home.

The Super Eagles have stated that they are going to be bullish, but it won’t be that easy because Rwanda will come out to play for their fans. Still, they will be careful not to leave open spaces at the back for Nigeria to exploit.

The Rwandan team is very tricky, so the Super Eagles must not let down their guard at any point. They do not have the biggest stars, but they are used to playing together.

Nonetheless, with the quality of Nigeria’s team, they should prevail.
