English Premier League club Chelsea are desperately trying to secure the transfer of Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Since Todd Boehly and the Blue Lake Consortium took over at Chelsea, the club have adopted a transfer policy of signing talented young players from other top leagues across Europe.
That policy has seen a horde of players join the club. In the last two years. The latest player on their radar is Super Eagles striker Boniface.

The 24-year-old striker has contributed 31 goals and 11 assists for Bayer Leverkusen since he joined two seasons ago and this has attracted attention from various top European clubs.
Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr also tried to price Boniface away in January, but the transfer fell through.

Now, according to reports from Blue Footy, Chelsea are desperate to seal Boniface signature by the summer transfer window.

Boniface is valued at €45 million on Transfermarkt, but Bayer Leverkusen could demand as high as €60 million before they sanction the deal.
Does Chelsea have a good chance of landing Boniface?

Boniface has often asserted his preference for La Liga over the Premier League. He is a big fan of Brazilian forward Neymar especially due to his style of play.
As such, it might be difficult for Chelsea to convince him. Nonetheless, with the right salary offer, Boniface could change his preferences.
If the Blues eventually sign Boniface, it would put a permanent end to talks linking him them to Victor Osimhen.
