Italian Serie A side, AS Roma have joined Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in pursuit of Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest full-back, Ola Aina, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation for the Reds this season and has arguably been the best right-back in the English Premier League.
Aina’s current deal at the City Ground expires in six months, and he is free to enter into pre-contract talks with any club ahead of a summer move.
As per Roma Press, three-time Serie A champions Roma, are looking at the possibility of acquiring the services of the former Chelsea man.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are having difficulties in coming to a full agreement with Ajax for Devyne Rensch, and have now turned their attention to Ola Aina. Additionally, Roma’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, has made first inquiries with the player’s entourage and is monitoring his situation at the English club.
Roma joins Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on a list of clubs who want to sign the versatile defender after his brilliant start to this campaign.
However, both these clubs face a huge task in sealing a deal for Aina. Nottingham Forest head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, is confident the Super Eagles defender will pen a new deal, and remain at the City Ground beyond this summer.
“On Ola’s contract, No, I don’t think there’s an issue on that. They [Ola Aina, Murillo and Chris Wood] are working very well. Things are going well. The people responsible for that part of the club are taking care of it. It helps when a player is happy, as a club there is no issue in terms of changing. What we want is our players to feel good. We provide the right atmosphere and then they have to do their jobs on the pitch,” the former Tottenham Hotspur coach said in quotes previously posted by Soccernet.ng.
Should Aina choose to go to Roma, it’ll be his second spell in Italy after he spent five years in Turin, playing for Torino after exiting Chelsea in 2018.
