Lazio head coach, Marco Baroni, has revealed that Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru, is a doubt for his side’s crunch Europa League fixture against Ludogorets Razgrad tonight, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Le Aquile on loan from Hatayspor and has featured largely as a rotation player, scoring two goals and providing two assists in eight games across all competitions.
Baroni, speaking ahead of his side’s game tonight, heaped praise on the Nigerian midfielder, before revealing doubts about his availability.
“Dele has a lot of energy, he is a midfielder who can play all over the pitch. He has quality, energy, physical strength and is a player who is growing. I see him during training, he will be an important player for us.
We have to evaluate him, he had a very small problem, today we have 2-3 players that I have to evaluate. If he is well he will be in the game. I do not contemplate the thought that one of my teams could underestimate a match, it does not exist.
We are playing in the Europa League, it is the most important match in front of our fans, we must move on from a great performance tomorrow too. We can and must do it,” the Italian gaffer said in his pre-match conference, as revealed by Fanta Calcio.
Like Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, Lazio have a 100% record in the Europa League, winning all of their four games, and are currently top of the group phase table. Baroni’s side have lost one game from their previous twelve.
