Crystal Palace have renewed their interest in Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, currently valued at €30 million by his club, Club Brugge, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to Voetbal24 as per Tribal Football, Palace are one of several Premier League teams closely monitoring the 23-year-old, who has impressed scouts with his robust style of play—a quality that could translate well into English football.
Onyedika joined Brugge from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022, quickly cementing his place as a core player in Nicky Hayen’s squad.
He was instrumental in Brugge’s league title win last season and played a significant role in their run to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
Known for his disciplined and physical presence, Onyedika’s recent form has been slightly marred by disciplinary issues, having picked up two red cards in his last five appearances—one in the Belgian league and another in the UEFA Champions League.
These incidents were rare, as the one marked his first red card in 71 Belgian First Division A matches.
Palace previously showed interest in Onyedika over the summer but opted not to pursue a deal at that time.
Now, with their midfield needing reinforcements, the club may see the Nigerian as an ideal candidate to boost their ranks.
After a disappointing start to the Premier League season and the summer departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Palace are keen to regain stability.
Despite a challenging start, Palace managed to secure a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Selhurst Park last weekend.
Should Palace make a formal bid in January, they may face competition from other European clubs, as Galatasaray reportedly had a €15 million bid for Onyedika turned down by Brugge over the summer.
