Welcome to live coverage of the Super Eagles' opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where Nigeria will host Benin at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
After a turbulent few months following their heartbreak in the 2023 AFCON final and subsequent managerial changes, the Super Eagles are keen to bounce back and secure a vital win in front of their home fans.
Interim coach Augustine Eguavoen takes charge once again, aiming to steady the ship as Nigeria looks to reclaim their winning mentality.
However, they face a tricky challenge against the Cheetahs of Benin, managed by former Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr, who knows his former team well and will undoubtedly have a few tricks up his sleeve.
