Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has joined Rangers in their pre-season trip to Netherland despite talks of a possible transfer to Greek champions PAOK, Soccernet.ng reports.
Dessers had a decent campaign with former Scottish champions Rangers last season. Despite just joining the club from Cremonese last season, the 29-year-old striker had 21 goals and nine assists in 54 games across all competitions. He also won the League Cup with Rangers.
Despite his decent returns in his first season, Dessers has been linked with a move out of the club, with Greek club PAOK in the mix.
However, no deal has been signed yet, so he is still with the club. Meanwhile, Rangers have resumed for pre-season, and they will be camping in Eindhoven, Netherland.
In certain situations, when a player will likely leave a club, they do not join their pre-season. Nonetheless, Dessers was spotted with the rest of the team in Eindhoven.
The Gers have a few friendly games lined up in the next few days. They play their first pre-season game against Ajax on July 13. Then, they have fixtures against Manchester United, Birmingham City, and Union Berlin.
If Dessers leaves Rangers this summer, the club would have to get a good replacement. Hence, they may want to keep him for an extra season.
