The Super Eagles of Nigeria will open camp on June 1, ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying games against South Africa and Benin, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles currently sit third, but they will be looking to ascend to the summit of Group C of the World Cup qualifiers in June, when they play South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and Benin.
Nigeria will first play South Africa on June 5 before traveling to Benin for the second game three days later.
New Super Eagles coach Finidi George will be taking charge of his first set of competitive games, and he is more or less condemned to lead Nigeria to victory.
According to reports, the former Ajax winger has already presented a provisional squad list to the Nigeria Football Federation, and the final list will soon be revealed.
All invited players will be expected to resume camp by June 1. It is the same day that the UEFA Champions League final will be played, but Nigeria does not have any player in the competition. Also, all the top European leagues would have completed the season by then.
The Super Eagles are going to be camped in Akwa Ibom State because the South Africa fixture will go down at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
