Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi has set his sights on a move to one of the top six Premier League clubs when the transfer window opens, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been in fine form for the Foxes this season, scoring six goals and recording six assists in 34 games in a rejuvenated season under Enzo Maresca.
The former Genk man signed a six-year deal with the one-time FA Cup winners in the summer of 2018, and his contract runs out this summer.
The club are yet to hold renewal talks with Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, hinting that their promotion journey to the English top flight will be the last time both players don the blue colours of Leicester.
Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing Ndidi’s services. According to SCORENigeria, the player’s preference is a move to one of the top six Premier League clubs. Anything outside of that, the Nigerian will move away from England.
“Ndidi is really looking at joining a club in the Premier League Top-6 in the summer, otherwise he will move abroad where he has other offers,” the report read.
The defensive midfielder was unable to feature in Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 campaign due to an injury that kept him out of action for three months. He returned to the pitch in March and has found the back of the net in Leicester’s last two games.
Maresca’s men will secure automatic promotion to the English Premier League with one more win. They will travel to Deepdale to face Preston North End this weekend.
