Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has weighed in on the goal scored by Nigerian international Victor Osimhen during Napoli’s clash against Monza,Soccernet.ng reports.
In their bid to secure European football for next season campaign, Napoli bounced back from a 3-0 loss to Atalanta BC at home to defeat Monza 4-2 on the road.

To his role model Drogba, he admitted he wouldn’t have attempted such a goal during his playing days but praised Osimhen for his performance despite being hurt afterwards.
“I saw Victor score that goal against Monza. Oh God! He got hurt, I thought. I wouldn’t have gone for that ball, it’s crazy. An absurd goal!” he said, as quoted by The Napolista.
Osimhen has frequently cited Drogba as his role model, strengthening their relationship, and they have been seen together on numerous occasions, particularly during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
There are suggestions that this bond could potentially help Chelsea secure the signature of Victor Osimhen, following in the footsteps of his idol Drogba.

Congratulations to Osi-Air and the Team!
World renowned strikers. are known for such feats!
Keep coming up with different a styles to entertain your massive fans around the world! More grease!
I would rather call him, Maasai-Osimhein: He jumped like the Kenyan Maasai group. The jump was incredible, fantacocastic and achieving. I can’t imaging a human jump to that height only to get a goal. It shows commitment. The aim was highly achieved.
to be considered indispensable and outstanding, you must be ready to do the extraordinary. you must be willing to kill yourself a little for the team.
Only a Christiano Ronaldo can match that. Osim-Air defies gravity.
Great goal
I remembered watching this guy during the under 17 World Cup and I told my friend that Nigerian Super Eagle now has a number 9 that will take over from Thompson Usiyen and Rashidi Yekini. He doubted me then. He later came to dub me Nostradamus when Roger invited him. But I was upset that Roger kept him on the bench.
I’m not surprised to see what he’s doing. Forget that African Nations cup session, this guy is for real. I have never met him but I can entrust the number 9 jersey to him.
