The Partenopeans could lose Osimhen in the summer, and they are already preparing for life without him
Italian Serie A champions Napoli are keeping tabs on Polish attacker Sebastian Szymanski as a replacement for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020, and he has quickly made a name for himself as one of the best strikers in the world.
Last season, the Nigerian striker scored 26 goals to become the first African to win the Capocannoniere. He also helped the club win their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
Following his performances for Napoli, Osimhen has been linked with a transfer to some other top European clubs. Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG have been heavily linked to the 25-year-old hitman, but Napoli have held on to him.
However, it is likely that Osimhen will leave Naples in the summer, with the Premier League as his likely destination. Meanwhile, Napoli have already started shopping for a replacement.
Napoli will get over €100 million if they eventually sell Osimhen, and according to Tutto Napoli, they have identified Fenerbahçe striker Szymanski as a replacement.
The Polish striker has been impressive for the Turkish giants this season, registering nine goals and eight assists in 27 appearances. Unlike Osimhen, Szymanski can operate from the wings and play behind the main striker.
He is currently valued at €20 million, according to Transfermarkt, and given the good relationship between the two clubs in recent years, a deal can take place.
