The Nigerian striker just moved to the Bundesliga, and he has started making his impact felt
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored a brace for Bayer Leverkusen in their 5-1 demolition of newly-promoted Darmstadt, Soccernet reports.
Boniface just joined Leverkusen this summer from Royale Union SG, and he has taken the league by storm. The Nigerian striker nicked an assist in his first Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig, and he followed up with two goals against Borussia Monchengladbach.
This Saturday, Die Werkself welcomed new boys Darmstadt to Bay Arena, and Xavi tasked Boniface with leading his frontline again. And the Nigerian striker once again showed his prowess.
Boniface opened the scoring for Bayer Leverkusen in the 21st minute. The 22-year-old striker received a pass from Jeremie Frimpong in his own half and went on a mazy run.
He skipped past tackles from Darmstadt defenders and ran through on goal. He then placed a precise chip past Marcel Schuhen to open the scoring. However, Oscar Vihelmsson loved the scoring four minutes later.
The first half ended level, but Leverkusen started the second half with more urgency, and they took the lead again in the 49th minute through Exequiel Palacios.
Twelve minutes later, Boniface struck again. He showed great awareness to get on the end of a pass from Florian Wirtz and just tapped it in to make it 3-1. Goals from Jonas Hofmann and Adam Hlozek completed the 5-1 rout for Bayer Leverkusen.

Boniface played the entire 90 minutes, but he failed to get his hattrick. The 22-year-old striker will now set his sights on the Super Eagles ahead of the international break.
