Official: Bendel Insurance lose star striker to United Arab Emirates’ United FC ahead of crunch Berkane tie

The exciting forward has been one of the most outstanding youngsters on the domestic scene, and he has now taken a major step in his career

Bendel Insurance FC have confirmed the departure of star striker Imade Osarenkhoe as he embarks on a new journey with United FC in the United Arab Emirates, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osarenkhoe has penned a lucrative four-year deal with United FC, ending his association with the Benin Arsenal.

While with Insurance, Osarenkhoe's remarkable contributions were instrumental to the club's recent successes.

His pivotal role helped secure their promotion to the Nigeria Professional League following an extended stint in the second division.

Upon their return to the top flight, the Black Bullet proved his mettle by netting ten goals across various competitions, ensuring Bendel Insurance's retention of their league status.

One defining moment in fans' memories was Osarenkhoe's match-winning performance against Enugu Rangers, which led to Bendel Insurance clinching their fourth national cup title, a feat they had not achieved since 1980.

Osarenkhoe's impact extended beyond domestic competitions, as he played a vital role in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The standout performances of the striker captured the attention of United Arab Emirates' United FC, culminating in a successful transfer deal with Bendel Insurance.

The club made the official announcement via their Twitter handle, stating, “We announce the departure of our striker, @Imade_Osarenkho (The BLACK BULLET). Imade, who scored 10 goals in all competitions last season, signed on a 4-year deal for United FC of the United Arab Emirates.”

However, this transfer carries an unfortunate consequence for Bendel Insurance.

Imade Osarenkhoe's departure leaves a void in their lineup, particularly as they gear up for the second leg of the second-round qualifiers in the CAF Confederation Cup. In this crucial fixture, Bendel Insurance is set to face RS Berkane.

The first leg of this encounter unfolded as a gripping 2-2 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on September 19. The return fixture is scheduled for this weekend at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.

The outcome of this clash will determine which team advances to the Group stage of the competition.
