Samuel Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal CF during the Summer transfer window and has face a heavy competition from Christian Pulisic
AC Milan manager, Stefano Pioli, has disclosed that Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is making progress despite facing increasing competition from Christian Pulisic in the starting lineup, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles forward garnered significant interest from several clubs during the recent summer transfer window and eventually joined fellow compatriots Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen in the Italian Serie A by signing with AC Milan.
However, Chukwueze has encountered a challenge with Christian Pulisic, the United States forward, becoming a preferred choice in Pioli’s starting eleven.
In quotes published by Milan Posts, Pioli stated that Chukwueze is meeting the team’s expectations and showing growth.
“He knows well what he has to do, and he did it in #Cagliari. We also expect goals from someone like him, but he is growing.” he said.
In contrast to Pulisic’s two goals and one assist in six appearances, Chukwueze has yet to find the back of the net for the San Siro outfit.
He has only been given the opportunity to start twice in his five appearances, against Newcastle and Inter Milan, limiting his chances to meet expectations.
As Milan prepares to host Lazio at the San Siro this weekend, Chukwueze aims to solidify his position as a key player and contribute to his team’s quest for victory.
