Victor Boniface has taken the Bundesliga by storm after netting consecutive braces for Bayer 04 Leversekusen to make it 4 goals in just 3 appearances
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has matched a record as only the third Bundesliga player to make a six-goal contribution in his first three Bundesliga games after netting a brace in Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s 5-1 win over Darmstadt on Saturday, Soccernet ng reports.
The 22-year-old joined Leverkusen this summer from Royale Union SG and has had a fast start to his career in Germany.
He made an assist in his club’s first league game of the new season against RB Leipzig before he opened his Bundesliga account with 2 goals against Borussia Monchengladbach in their second game.
On Saturday, Boniface continued his impressive start to life with Die Welkserf by netting his second brace in as many games since he moved to the club.
The first goal was a beautiful chip after maneuvering his way past two Darmstadt defenders following a lightning Leverkusen’s counterattack.
His second would come just after the hour mark after being played through on goal by Florian Wirtz and the rampant forward made no mistake again to net his fourth goal in two matches.
Boniface still had time to assist German International Jonas Hofman’s first goal for the club to set Leverkusen to a comfortable victory over the newcomers at the Bay Arena.
Following these impressive outings in his first three Bundesliga games, Boniface has now joined former Borussia Dortmund strikers Erling Haaland and Paco Alcacer as the only three players to register six-goal contributions in their first three games.

Spanish striker Alcacer was the first player to achieve the feat in 2018 before Erling Halaand made a seven-goal contribution in his first three Bundesliga games for Dortmund after joining from RB Salzburg in 2020.
After a blistering start to his career in Germany, Boniface will now aim to carry his form to the national side with a maiden cap for Nigeria as the country tackles Sao Tome and Principe in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture next weekend.
