Wilfred Ndidi has been heavily linked with a move from Leicester City this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last term
Nottingham Forest are making progress in completing the signing of Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City ahead of the transfer deadline, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old Nigerian International has entered the final year of his contract with Leicester, and negotiations over extending his six-year stay at the club have been stalled following their relegation from the Premier League last term.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his situation at the King Power Stadium, he has been a regular starter for them in their first few matches played so far this season, contributing two goals to help them to the third round of the Carabao Cup.
He has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move to one of the Premier League clubs, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, and the top clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.
It was also reported two days ago that Ndidi has given the green light for a move to Nottingham Forest, with personal terms already sorted out between the player and the club.
In the latest update, Nottingham have now presented an opening proposal to Leicester City for the signing of 26-year-old, and negotiations have now started between both clubs, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
If Ndidi eventually joins Nottingham Forest, he will become a teammate of Taiwo Awoniyi, Emmanuel Dennis, and Ola Aina who signed for Forest from Torino earlier in the summer.
