Premier League action resumed on Saturday, and some Super Eagles players were involved for their clubs…

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze found the net to help Fulham secure a 2-1 comeback win over Brighton at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Cottagers returned to Premier League action with coach Marco Silva welcoming back his three Nigerian stars — Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, and Alex Iwobi — after their participation at AFCON 2025 with Nigeria.

However, only Iwobi was named in the starting XI, while Bassey and Chukwueze began the match on the bench.

Brighton eventually broke the deadlock in the 28th minute through Yasin Ayari. Seeking a spark in the final third, Silva introduced Chukwueze on the hour mark — a decision that paid dividends just 12 minutes later.

Chukwueze pounced on an inch-perfect through ball from Joachim Andersen, slotting a precise low strike into the bottom-left corner to level the score at 1-1.

The match seemed headed for a draw, but the in-form Harry Wilson scored a late winner, ensuring Fulham walked away with all three points.

While Iwobi put in a solid 90-minute shift, Calvin Bassey was an unused substitute. The victory now moves Fulham to 7th in the Premier League table, with 34 points from 23 matches.

Tolu Arokodare Helpless as Wolves Fall to Manchester City in The Premier League

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare saw 21 minutes of action in Wolverhampton Wanderers' 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite becoming a regular fixture in the Wolves lineup since Rob Edwards took the helm, Arokodare started on the bench as Edwards opted for a different setup against the champions.

But by the time the Nigerian striker was introduced, Wolves were already trailing by two goals, following strikes from Omar Marmoush and Antoine Semenyo.

Arokodare struggled to influence the game against a resolute Pep Guardiola side that dominated possession throughout.

The loss leaves Wolves neck-deep in the relegation zone, with a paltry eight points from 23 games.

They are currently 14 points adrift of safety, and the club faces a tough task to avoid the drop.
