Fulham want to add some bite to their attack, and Iwobi could give them a boost
English Premier League club Fulham are preparing a £20million[₦20billion] bid for Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, Soccernet reports.
Iwobi is currently one of the best players at Everton. He joined the club from Arsenal for €30million in 2019, but he took two years to settle into the club finally.
He was key in their Premier League survival two seasons ago and also played a crucial role for them last season, registering two goals and eight assists in 40 appearances last season.
Iwobi’s contract with Everton expires at the end of the season, but he has not agreed to sign a new deal.
Meanwhile, Fulham are looking to add some creativity to their attack after they lost star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al Hilal last week.
Earlier, Soccernet reported that the Cottagers have opened talks with Everton for the Super Eagles creative midfielder.
In the latest development, according to the Daily Mail, Fulham will offer Everton £20million to get Iwobi this summer.
Everton may be under pressure to accept the bid because of their poor finances. Also, they risk losing Iwobi for free next June if he refuses to sign an extension.
Iwobi is currently one of the best Nigerian players in Europe. His looks and brilliance on the pitch have even endeared him to Super Falcons star Michelle Alozie.
