Transfers: Flying Eagles World Cup star joins Dessers, Balogun in the Scottish Premiership

The youngster was decent under coach Ladan Bosso at the World Cup and the Nations Cup, and he has now been snapped up

Scottish Premiership club Livingston FC have announced that they have signed Nigeria Under-20 midfielder Samson Lawal, Soccernet reports.

Lawal was one of the important players under coach Ladan Bosso at the last Under-20 World Cup and Nations Cup.

He played all four of Nigeria's games at the Nations Cup and scored one goal. He also had a similar performance at the World Cup in Argentina.

The tournament served as a launchpad for the career of some players, as Solomon Agbalaka recently sealed a transfer to Russian side FC Sochi.

The latest Flying Eagles player to complete a transfer after the World Cup is Lawal. Scottish Premiership Livingston have announced that they have sealed a transfer for the 19-year-old.

The tireless midfielder becomes the second Nigerian to sign for the club after retired Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose.

Lawal also joins the likes of Leon Balogun, Cyriel Dessers, and Nnamdi Ofoborh, who play their trade in the Premiership.

Livingston are a mid-table club in the Premiership. They have not won a trophy since they won the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2015. The club finished 7th in the Premiership last season.
