The Blues have been active in the transfer market, and they have shown no signs of stopping any time soon
Chelsea have submitted a €30m (approx. N25.3 billion) bid for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, Soccernet.ng reports.
Despite a recent setback in his career due to a serious hamstring injury during the European Championships with France’s U21 squad, Olise remains a highly sought-after talent in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old winger has already showcased his brilliance on the pitch, impressing with six goals and an impressive 19 assists in 71 appearances for the Eagles.
Such a display has certainly captured the attention of top clubs, including the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.
According to RMC Sport, Chelsea have come forward with a mouth-watering €30 million bid for Olise. However, the deal is not yet finalised, as the Blues await guarantees regarding the player’s recovery from his recent injury.
The negotiations seem to be making progress, though, as RMC Sport further reveals that Olise and Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle.
The Blues have already submitted a verbal bid to Crystal Palace, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side is understandably cautious and eager to receive assurances regarding Olise’s fitness.
The situation gets more intriguing, as it turns out Manchester City also have their sights set on the gifted winger.
The departure of Riyad Mahrez to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli has left City on the hunt for a new winger, and Olise’s abilities have caught their attention.
Olise began his professional career at Reading and only moved to Crystal Palace in 2021 for just under €10 million.
Fast forward to the present, his value has skyrocketed to close to €40 million, illustrating just how much he has impressed during his time with the Eagles.
With a contract that stretches until 2026, Crystal Palace holds the cards, but the allure of top clubs vying for his signature might tempt them to consider a transfer.
