The Tricky Trees are looking to add some bite to their attack for next season, and they have identified a Nigerian attacker
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho is Nottingham Forest’s main target for this summer transfer window as they look to bolster their attack for next season, Soccernet reports.
The versatile 26-year-old Nigerian forward has been one of the best players at the King Power since his transfer from Manchester City in 2017 for €27.7million. Iheanacho has been Leicester City’s Player of the Season twice.
Unfortunately for him, the Foxes got relegated from the Premier League last season after finishing in 18th, and with just one year left on his current deal, there has been a lot of talk about his future.
Also, with Leicester City dropping to the Championship, they would want to make some money to balance their books.
Nottingham Forest has emerged as a potential destination for Iheanacho. And The Sun reports that the Tricky Trees have made the 26-year-old forward their top target this summer as they have opened talks with Leicester City for a transfer.
Iheanacho is currently valued at €18million per Transfermarket, but Leicester City may be willing to let him go for less too.
If the deal goes through, he will join other Super Eagles stars Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis.
