Iheanacho and Ndidi have a combined 398 appearances and 62 goals in Leicester City’s color
Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were missing in Leicester City’s first training session after the end of the season break, with speculations continuing to mount about the players’ possible departure from the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
The two players have been reported as unwilling to ply their trades next season for Leicester City following the club’s relegation to the English championship last season.
Iheanacho, who joined the club from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 has a year left on his contract, while his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, also has a year left on his contract after committing to a six-year extension in 2018.
Leicester City’s new manager Enzo Maresca has recently claimed in a press conference that the players who are not willing to continue with the club are free to leave, paving the way for both Nigerian Internationals to exit the club.
While Iheanacho has been linked to several clubs in England, with rumors circulating that the striker prefers to keep playing in England, Ndidi has been attracting interest from Italy, with José Mourinho’s Roma being reported among the suitors.
Both players’ absences in Leicester City’s recent training session have further strengthened speculations about their departure from the Championship club.
