Okereke suffered relegation with Cremonese last season, but he may not play in the Serie B with them next season
Nigerian striker David Okereke is on the radar of Serie A clubs Cagliari and Bologna. He is also being watched by Turkish giants Besiktas, Soccernet.ng reports.
The last two seasons have been forgettable for Super Eagles hopeful Okereke. He left Belgian giants Club Brugge in 2021 for Venezia, who had just gained promotion to the Serie.
Unfortunately, the move did not pan out well, as his seven goals in 32 appearances could not help the team survive relegation.
He then joined another newly-promoted side Cremonese last summer on a permanent basis. Still, the stars failed to align for him, as the club finished 19th in Serie A, sealing their drop to Serie B.
Compatriot Cyriel Dessers, who was also with the Grigiorossi, completed his transfer to Rangers on Thursday, and Okereke could also be on the move too.
According to Napoli Magazine, three clubs are interested in the 25-year-old goal poacher. Bologna had been linked previously, but newly-promoted Cagliari have now joined the race. Former Turkish champions Besiktas are also interested in Okereke.
The former Spezia is valued at €4million according to Transfermarket, which is a decent price for him.
If he eventually moves to Cagliari, he would become the first Nigerian to play for the club in Serie A.
