WATCH: Jay Jay is my daddy – Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan admits after getting schooled by Super Eagles legend Okocha

Okocha is a maestro on the pitch, but he brought his brilliance to the court and punished Gyan

Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan admitted that Jay-Jay Okocha is his “daddy” after the Super Eagles legend defeated him in the game of tennis, Soccernet reports.

Okocha and Gyan are two of the greatest footballers on the continent. Okocha was known to be a master dribbler in his day, as he was great at creating space and wriggling past challenges.

Meanwhile, Gyan is one of the greatest Ghanaian strikers. He was superb for the Black Stars at the 2010 World Cup, helping them to the quarterfinals in the tournament that was held in South Africa.

Okocha, 49, retired from active football in 2008, while Gyan, 37, officially retired this year.

Both men were recently involved in a tennis match, and Okocha defeated the former Ghana international. Gyan won the first set, but Okocha rallied to win the game.

Both were engaged in friendly banter after the game, with Okocha saying that Gyan “wanted to chill with the big boys”.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian star, who was very humble, admitted that Okocha was a better player. “Maestro Jay-Jay Okocha is my daddy,” Gyan said.
