Ex-Turkish footballer reveals what Osayi-Samuel has to do to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona

The Nigeria defender looks set for a return to English football, but Kurtar believes that he has the potential to play for the best clubs in the world

Former Turkish attacker Guvenc Kurtar has asserted that Super Eagles defender Bright-Osayi Samuel can play for Real Madrid or Barcelona if he works harder, Soccernet reports.

Osayi-Samuel has enjoyed a steady rise since his transfer from English Championship club Queens Park Rangers in 2021.

The versatile Super Eagles defender has been one of the best fullbacks in Turkey in recent seasons. However, he has suffered a lull this season, as he did not see a lot of action under coach Jorge Jesus.

The 25-year-old was limited to just 23 appearances in the Super Lig, 13 of which were off the bench.

Osayi-Samuel looks set to leave Turkey this summer, with talks linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Brentford, Bournemouth, and Brighton have been touted as potential destinations. However, former Turkish footballer Kurtar believes Osayi-Samuel can play for a top club.

“If Osayi-Samuel pushes himself harder, he can play for a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid,” Kurtar said per Depar Sports.

The Nigerian star is blessed with pace and uses the ball well. If he moves to the Premier League and he impresses, he may get a transfer to a big club.
