Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo has completed a permanent transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Orobah, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nwankwo left Italian Serie B side Salernitana when his contract at the club expired at the end of last season, ending a four-year stint there and a nine-year stay in Italy.

Upon his Salernitana exit, the 33-year-old striker did not get a lot of offers from Europe. Earlier reports by Soccernet suggested that Turkish second division club Sakaryaspor were seriously interested, but the deal did not work out eventually.

However, news of a possible transfer to Saudi Arabian Division 1 club Al Orobah broke two weeks ago.

The deal has now been sealed, as confirmed by Nwankwo's agent Enrico Sposato via a post on Instagram.

The duration of the deal hasn't been confirmed year, but with his age, it is likely that the Super Eagles star signed a short-term contract.

Nwankwo has already started working with the rest of his Al Orobah teammates.

The club just joined the Division 1 this season, and the Super Eagles star will look to help them gain promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

Has Simy Nwankwo Played For The Super Eagles?

Simy Nwankwo has four caps for Nigeria, all of which came under coach Gernot Rohr. He got his first call-up in May 2018 and got his debut in a friendly game against DR Congo.

He also made the Super Eagles' 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, and he made two appearances, both of which, were off the bench.

The last time he was called up by Nigeria was in September 2018. But he has not been invited since then, as his performance at club level has not been good enough.
