Super Eagles striker Wilfred Ndidi has sent a farewell message to Ole Gunnar Solksjaer following his sack at Besiktas on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Besiktas missed out on a place in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday after suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss to Swiss club Laussane at the Tupras Stadium in Istanbul.
Unfortunately for former Manchester United attacker Solksjaer, who took over at Besiktas at the turn of the year, that loss cost him his job.
The Turkish giants decided to go that route, as Solksjaer flattered to deceive, winning 15 and losing nine of his 29 games as Besiktas coach. In total, the former Manchester United tactician spent 221 days at the club.
What Wilfred Ndidi Told Solksjaer
Following Solksjaer's sack, Super Eagles midfielder Ndidi has taken to Instagram to send a farewell message to his former Norwegian coach.
The Super Eagles star wrote, “We didn't get much time to work together. Wish you all the best for the future. Thank you gaffer.”
Ndidi just joined Besiktas from Leicester City this summer, and Solksjaer's presence at the club would have likely influenced his decision to join them.
However, now that the former Manchester United coach has been moved on, Ndidi will have to focus on working under a new coach.
Besiktas just appointed Sergen Yalcin as Solksjaer's replacement, and Wilfred Ndidi will look to shine under the Turkish tactician and help them win game.
