The Super Eagles defender just returned to action after being out of action for three months, but he could face another time on the sidelines
Super defender Ola Aina could be out of action for some time after he sustained a lesion on hi its left soleus in4 Soccernet.ng reports.
Aina spent most of the World Cup break recuperating from a hamstring injury. And he just returned from his three-month layoff on the 6th of March.
Upon his return, the Super Eagles star featured as a substitute in his first three games for Torino.
However, he was not called up to Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations double-header against Guinea-Bissau as he had a one-game suspension.
It was expected that Aina would be fully fit and ready to find his way back into the starting eleven after the international break. But the former Chelsea man would have to wait for some time before that happens.
According to Napoli Magazine, the 26-year-old fullback suffered a lesion in his left soleus. The injury could keep him out of action for another three weeks.
This means he could miss Torino’s next three games against Sassuolo, Roma, and Salernitana.
The injury may not give Torino boss Ivan Juric a headache, as the Granata are comfortable in the middle of the Serie A table.
