Terem Moffi

From Albania to Georgia and from Belgium to Turkey, Nigerian stars made headlines with their impressive performances on the field for their clubs.

In this collection of highlights, Soccernet.ng looks at some of the standout moments and accomplishments from around the world of football.

ALBANIA

In Albania, Anthony Umejiego and Ndubuisi Eneh were the stars of the show, as they scored the opening and winning goals, respectively, in Apolonia Fier's 3-2 victory over Dinamo Tirana. Dickson Idakwo also managed to get on the scoresheet for Tirana.

BELGIUM

Over in Belgium, Nigerian striker Gift Orban stole the spotlight with an incredible four-goal performance for KAA Gent against Zulte Waregem.

The 20-year-old had never scored a hat-trick before but managed to grab one before adding his fourth goal in the 83rd minute. Orban has been sensational since joining Gent, with nine goals since his debut in February.

ENGLAND

In England, Leicester City's Ashleigh Plumptre put in an impressive defensive display to help her team secure a goalless draw against Everton.

Meanwhile, Paul Onuachu made a cameo appearance for Southampton as they earned a valuable point with a goalless draw against ten-man Manchester United.

FRANCE

Moving to France, Terem Moffi was on the scoresheet and provided an assist for Nice in their 2-2 draw against Nantes. Moses Simon also played 65 minutes in the game.

Super Eagles forward Moffi has been in sensational form this season, with 15 goals to his name in 24 appearances in Ligue 1.

GERMANY

In Germany, Kevin Akpoguma featured for TSG Hoffenheim but couldn't prevent his team from suffering a 2-1 defeat to Freiburg, which saw them slip to the bottom of the Bundesliga table.

SPAIN

Samuel Chukwueze put in a strong performance for Villarreal, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Real Betis in Spain.

Rasheedat Ajibade also had a good game, but Atletico Madrid could not find the back of the net in the Madrid derby, resulting in a goalless draw.

Gift Monday tasted victory with Granadilla Tenerife as they thrashed Madrid 5-2.

GEORGIA

In Georgia, Benjamin Opeyemi Teidi came off the bench to score a crucial goal and secure a comeback 3-2 win for Dinamo Batumi against Matthew Olatunji's Samtredia.

LIECHTENSTEIN

Franklin Sasere also found the back of the net, scoring a stoppage-time winner for Vaduz in their 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Bellinzona in the Challenge League.

TURKEY

Lastly, in Turkey, Ibrahim Olawoyin played a vital role in Caykur Rizespor's impressive 2-1 away league victory over Bodrumspor, as he assisted a goal before scoring the stoppage-time winner.
