Nigeria’s Flying Eagles win fair play award as Senegal clear the top prizes at AFCON U20

The Nigerian national U20 team claimed the bronze medal after beating their Tunisian counterpart in the third-place match in Egypt on Friday

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have won the Fair Play award at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which recently concluded in Egypt.

The Ladan Bosso-tutored side received the accolade from the Confederation of African Football a day after securing the bronze medal at the tournament.

The Flying Eagles defeated Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles 4-0 in the match played at Cairo International Stadium on Friday.

This is the second time the team has won the Fair Play award, having also claimed it during the group stage of the Afcon.

Senegal has emerged as the winner of the 2023 African U20 Cup of Nations. They secured their first title by defeating Gambia 2-0 in the final.
