Osimhen has been on fire for weeks, and he continued with his outstanding form against Cremonese
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored for Napoli in their 3-0 bashing of Cremonese at the Stadio Diego Amando Maradona.
Cremonese were the third team to inflict a defeat on Napoli this season after Liverpool and Inter Milan, and it was a fatal loss, as Napoli were knocked out of the Copa Italia.
However, the Partenopeans were looking to get their pound of flesh when they welcomed them to Naples.
Cremonese were without the services of their Nigerian duo Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke because of injuries. Meanwhile, Osimhen retained his carrying shirt at Napoli.
Napoli were on top from the blast of the whistle and they needed just 22 minutes for birthday boy Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to give them the lead.
The Partenopeans laboured for a second in the first half, but Cremonese held on strong.
Napoli were domineering in the second period, and they got their reward in the 65th minute. Osimhen showed great anticipation in the box and calmly tucked the ball into the net after Kim Min-Jae knocked it down for him.
Osimhen was outstanding as usual. Asides from his goal, he registered three successful dribbles, one key pass, and two clearances.
Eljif Elmas rounded up the scoring in the 79th minute to ensure the Partenopeans ran out with a comprehensive 3-0 win.
The Partenopeans now sit 16 points at the summit of the Serie A. But they have played a game more than second-placed Inter Milan.
Osimhen now has 17 goals in the Serie A this season.
