The Nigerian International sends a warning message to Newcastle United as the Foxes look to get momentum from their victory against Gillingham.

Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho sends a warning message to Newcastle ahead of their carabao cup clash.

After ending a long run of poor form with a lone goal against bottom League Two side Gillingham, Iheanacho believes the Foxes will build on the victory to face the Magpies on Tuesday.

When the foxes lock horns with Eddie Howe’s men in the EFL cup quarterfinals, the Nigerian international believes it’s the perfect time to have their revenge.

Recall that the Tynesiders were the first to leak Leicester’s weakness as they thumped the 2015-16 English Premier League champions in their first league match after the 2022 World Cup.

Meanwhile, subsequent matches have ended in defeats, with Liverpool defeating them 2-1 at the Anfield Stadium, and Fulham pipping past Roger’s squad at home.

However, “Senior Man Kelz,” as he is popularly called, has stated, in his post-match interview with BBC, that the 2021 FA Cup champions can build on the victory against Gillingham as they travel to St James Park on Tuesday.

“This gave us momentum to go to the next cup competition. We are playing Newcastle. Sort of revenge because beat us in the Premier League. It is not going to be easy but fingers crossed we will go there and fight to our last breath to make sure that we win” he said.

However, he could concur that playing the Toon will be difficult, knowing well that the third-placed team in the EPL has had a good run in their last 17 domestic league games.

“It’s important to get the momentum. It’s a difficult team as well. We came here to win so that’s what we need to do. It is 1-0 but it doesn’t matter because we are going through” he added.

The forward last scored against Leicester’s 4-2 loss to Newcastle but will be looking to make an impact when they visit Howe’s team.
