Everything seems to be falling in place for the youngster, and it seems he would fit in seamlessly into Club Brugge
Super Eagles hopeful Raphael Onyedika could get his full debut for Club Brugge when they square off against Bayer Leverkusen in their first game of this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Onyedika just joined Club Brugge this summer in a deal worth €10 million. And so far, it has been a very good start to life for the 21-year-old defensive midfielder.
The former Midtjylland man made his debut over the weekend in Club Brugge’s 4-0 demolition of Cercle Brugge.
Onyedika came on for injured midfielder Clinton Mata in the first half, and he made a big impression on his boss.
“As for Onyedika, I can only say that I’m happy with his performance(against Cercle Brugge),” Carl Hoefkens said as per Football live.
“He was able to show today what we had seen before when we scouted him.”
Things are falling in place for the FC Ebedei product. Mata will not be available for selection in their Champions League tie.
With Mata’s injury, Onyedika is expected to start for Club Brugge in defensive midfield when they take on Bayer Leverkusen.
It would be Onyedika’s first game in the Champions League since he moved to Europe three years ago, and he would look to help his side to victory.
