The last time the Black Sea Storm lifted the Super Lig trophy, Nwakaeme was not born yet
Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme is an integral part of Trabzonspor’s history as they secured their Turkish Super Lig title for the first time in 38 years.

The big boys of Istanbul have overshadowed the Black Sea Storm in recent years. Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Basaksehir, and Galatasaray have dominated the Super Lig for a very long time.
However, Trabzonspor have broken through and won their first title with four games to go.
Nwakaeme has been nothing short of brilliant this season. The Nigerian forward has been the shining light for the Black Sea Storm this season, notching ten goals and eleven assists.
In fact, since Nwakaeme arrived in Trabzon four years ago, he’s been a figure of hope for the fans. His statue in Trabzon further cements his status at the club.
However, this season will be the most significant for the former Hapoel Beer Sheva man, as a draw at home to Antalyaspor ensured that Trabzonspor claimed their first title since 1984.

The Nigerian star has refused to renew his contract, which runs out by the end of the season. Nonetheless, the title triumph could motivate him to take a new turn.
