The Super Eagles star was excellent for Genk in their 5-0 thrashing of Eupen, but he is still hungry for more
Genk hitman Paul Onuachu wants to add to his goal tally when his side takes on Seraing in the final game of the Jupiler League regular season.
It has been an absolutely disappointing campaign for the Smurfs this season, and they have failed to reach the heights of last season. They were eliminated from the Beker Van Belgie early on, and they sit eight on the Jupiler League table. Genk are in danger of missing out on the Belgian league playoffs if they lose to Seraing on the final day of the season.
However, after scoring a hat-trick in Genk’s 5-0 victory over Eupen, Onuachu is confident in his side’s quality, and he is looking to add to his goals tally when Genk takes to the pitch next Sunday.
“I think it is especially important that we do an excellent job for the Europe Play-offs,” Onuachu told Het Belang Van Limburg.
“It would be a blow to our supporters if we were to miss them. This victory should give us a big boost. And next week in Seraing I hope my twentieth. That looks much better than nineteen goals.”
The Nigeria international was the highest goalscorer in Belgium last season, but this season, he has scored 19 goals, six behind top scorer Deniz Undav, and it would take nothing short of a miracle for Onuachu to topple him.
