Alexander Iwobi was not in action as Tottenham Hotspurs condemned Everton to the brink of relegation waters.
Harry Kane was at his devastating best in the game scoring twice and setting others up to score. Everton, managed by Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard looked shorn of class all night, and played without the organisation that made them a difficult opposition for Manchester City.
A 14th-minute own goal by Michael Keane had set the tone at Tottenham stadium before Heung-Min Son doubled Spurs advantage three minutes after. Kane scored on the 37th minute to make it three before Sergio Reguilon took the game mathematically beyond Everton. Kane doubled his tally for the night in the 55th minute to shell the Toffees and put them in a relegation dogfight in what has been at best, an unbelievable season of lows and blows.
Iwobi, who had started the first three games under Lampard’s reign was left on the bench for the second straight game. He was also left out against Boreham Wood in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Everton’s loss has placed them just a place and a point above relegation waters.
