Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has heaped praise on former Everton forward Ademola Lookman following the Super Eagles’ emphatic Round of 16 victory over Mozambique, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former Ajax defender described the Atalanta forward as amazing after another decisive display at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria booked their place in the quarter-finals in style, producing one of their most dominant performances of the tournament in Fes.
While goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams also caught the eye, it was Lookman’s all-round influence that once again stood out as the Super Eagles maintained their perfect record in Morocco.

How Ademola Lookman performed vs Mozambique
Lookman delivered a complete attacking performance against Mozambique. The winger opened the scoring with a calm finish before turning provider, laying on assists for Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams as Nigeria overwhelmed the Mambas.

Constantly finding space between the lines and driving at the defence, Lookman was at the heart of almost every dangerous Super Eagles move.
His creativity proved too much for Mozambique to handle, helping Nigeria seal a comprehensive victory and extend their winning run at the tournament.
