The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Ibrox, but potential suitors may have to pay the top dollar to secure his services
Soccernet has gathered that Rangers are not ready to let Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo go for anything less than £10m (₦5.4b).
Reports in some sections of Nigerian media claimed that the Gers are willing to sell Aribo £4m, but the reports are not accurate as Rangers consider the Nigerian to be one of their most prized assets.
Rangers are aware of the interest in the Super Eagles star, with Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Aston Villa all linked with a move for the Nigerian international.
However, the Gers will only be willing to sell the Nigerian if they receive an offer in the region of £10m. Aribo joined Rangers from Charlton in the summer of 2019 and has gone to become one of the top players at the Ibrox.
He won the Young Player and Goal of the season in his first year before helping the side win their first Scottish Premiership title since 2011 in his second season.
Aribo has continued in the same vein this campaign, raising his performance to a higher level. He has been arguably Rangers best player this season and one of the best in the Scottish top-flight.
The Nigerian international has scored six goals and registered five assists in 24 league games this season. With these brilliant performances and a year and a half left on his contract, Rangers know they hold the ace and will not let their star man go for less than £10m this summer.
It’s a view shared by former Scotland star Barry Ferguson, who said last year Rangers would consider selling their Nigerian import for £10m.
Aribo is currently valued at around £8m as per Transfer Markt.
Aston Villa remain the favourites to sign the 25-year-old should he leave this summer due to his relationship with Steven Gerrard, who is now Villa’s manager.
