The Nigerian duo of Sadiq Umar and Tyrone Ebuehi were in action today, and they helped their sides secure vital results
Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar was on target for the seventh time in the Laliga 2 this season after he scored to help his side secure an emphatic 3-0 victory at home to Zaragoza.
The former Rangers man was on duty for the 18th time this season as the Rojiblancos aimed to extend their 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
However, a yellow card to Samuel Costa with a paltry shot on goal was all they could muster in the first half.
Nevertheless, Almeria continued with their gameplay, and 16 minutes after the break, the former Olympian struck to put his side ahead.
His goal was the vital push they needed to open their scoring spree as Alejandro Pozo and Largie Ramazani added a goal each to condemn Zaragoza to a 3-0 defeat- their first defeat in four games.
Umar was taken off in the 82nd minute, and he was replaced by Juanjo Nieto.
Meanwhile, Umar wasn’t the only one doing big things as Ebuehi played 79 minutes in Venezia’s 1-1 draw at home to Former Serie A Champions Juventus.
A first-half goal from Alvaro Morata was cancelled by Ebuehi’s teammate Mattia Arama in the 55th minute.
Ebuehi made four clearances and an 82 per cent pass accuracy.
The point was vital as it was Venezia’s first in four games. They currently sit six points away from relegation waters in 16th position.
Although two of the teams below them have a game in hand each.
