Nigeria-eligible forward Dapo Mebude has joined England League One side AFC Wimbledon on a loan deal from Watford. The League One side announced this via their website on Wednesday morning.
“We are delighted to announce that we’ve completed our eighth summer signing with highly-rated forward Dapo Mebude joining us on loan from Watford.”
The 19-year-old joined Watford in July on a free transfer after his contract at Rangers expired. Soccernet reported the transfer last month, and with the amount of quality present in the Watford attack, it was believed that the exciting forward would play a peripheral role at Vicarage Road.
And true to postulations, after seeing off competition from other League One clubs, The Dons have secured the services of the Rangers academy product for next season.
The 5’7 feet striker will hope to impress at his new club as he looks to improve his play. Dapo has played for the Scottish Youth set-up, but he is yet to feature for the senior side. He is still eligible to play for Nigeria.
